Cache-A archive system

Designed for the TV and film production industry, this automated tape archive device, allows a low cost tangible copy of file based media to be retained, copied and stored. The Cache-A uses LTO 4 cartridges and is able to be networked with Windows, MacOS, Unix and Linux. This ‘content aware’ device keeps the media meta data in each cartridge’s directory and system catalogue.

xstratek provide EVS/Avid integration solution

For a major west country festival xstratek were, again, asked to provide editing facilities.

The HD mix was stored in an EVS XT[2] server before streaming to an Avid Unity. Avid Interplay was used to efficiently manage the data transfer to Unity.

Content was continually recorded onto the EVS and streamed into the Unity before being edited on the Avid Media Composer Nitris DXs. Up to 20 hour long sessions were cut in the suites before being transmitted back to the London Master Control Room.

Additional material is cut straight from the EVS server using IP Director.
